- Music Festival Will Include Performances By Megan Joy, Fictionist, and Sugar Ray –
The Shops at Riverwoods (www.shopsatriverwoods.com) announced today its springtime music festival, “Jam the River,” a celebration to commemorate the new look and feel of the shopping plaza, and to kick off The Shops at Riverwoods’ spring shopping, dining and entertainment season.
The two-day celebration is scheduled to begin Friday, April 8 at 2 p.m., culminating with a special performance by Sugar Ray on Saturday, April 9 at 9 p.m. located at The Shops at Riverwoods (4801 North University Avenue) in Provo, Utah.
The Riverwoods is a family-friendly environment, providing its community three key services:
- Shopping: The Shops at Riverwoods features more than a dozen high-end retail stores offering customers the latest in style and fashion from well-known national stores to local boutiques.
- Dining: The Shops at Riverwoods offers some of the finest dining available in the Provo/Orem area. Options include a wide array of restaurants with selections and tastes from around the globe.
- Entertainment: The Gazebo stands at the heart of The Shops at Riverwoods, and is one of Utah Valley’s live outdoor entertainment venues. The Gazebo features live music, theater and art from local, national and international entertainers. Entertainment at The Gazebo is free to the public.
“Jam the River” will provide an opportunity for the community to explore new stores and restaurants while enjoying live entertainment from a number of bands, including Megan Joy, Fictionist and Sugar Ray.
“The shopping center recently went through a dramatic transformation, and we want to do something to show our appreciation for our customers through our transition,” said Don Osmond, Marketing Director at The Shops at Riverwoods. “This event will kick-off the first of many great live events to come. We hope to see families within the community take advantage of all The Shops at Riverwoods has to offer.”
Sugar Ray came to prominence in the 1990’s with hit songs like “Every Morning,” “Fly” and “When It’s Over.” The band’s lead singer, Mark McGrath, is a host on the television entertainment program Extra. He is also starring on Donald Trump’s, The Celebrity Apprentice.
Fictionist is a Utah County-based band that recently gained popularity by way of the Do You Want to Be A Rock & Roll Star contest promoted by Rolling Stone Magazine. The band recently made it past the first round in the competition, competing nationally with other bands, to be featured on the cover of an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone.
Megan Joy is a singer-songwriter and actress from Sandy, Utah who began singing at an early age. She was one of the finalists on season eight of American Idol in 2009, and has since continued to develop her singing and acting career.
Other event performances include Ryan Holdaway, Street Legal, Chance Lewis, Garret Sherwood, Nico, Allred, The Neighbors, Vibrant Sound, Brenda Burch, and Megan Joy, as well as Nitro Circus, which will feature motorbike aerials and BMX half pipe stunts.
